Fluid Focus was founded in 2016 in San Diego County, California, by Ryan Kershek — a lifelong suspension enthusiast with deep roots in both the motorsport and mountain bike worlds.
Ryan had extensive mountain bike industry experience as a mechanic but ultimately realized that to truly understand suspension, he needed to leave the industry. He spent years working in the moto suspension world as a factory suspension technician for WP and the Husqvarna SX and MX teams — developing suspension settings and tuning forks and shocks for top racers who demanded precision, control, and consistency. During this time, he helped riders achieve multiple podium finishes and an SX championship.
That same attention to detail and commitment to performance led to the creation of Fluid Focus — a shop built around the idea that every rider deserves suspension perfectly tuned for their bike, terrain, and riding style.
